During one long, difficult winter when I was at my lowest, I remember praying to God and asking Him to give me a life-story or something in my life that could be a testament to His glory. I did not think things could get much worse at that point, as I was jobless and feeling pretty beat up by the world- physically, spiritually, and mentally. Eventually, I did find a job that I actually liked, and I moved on with life, but still remember that prayer, and I kept it in my back pocket, wondering, and waiting, and trying to do something bigger and better. As a child, I would…

Technical error- sorry!
So sorry! I just completed a blog post and WordPress delivered it to subscribers who are signed up to receive blog updates without saving a few changes that I made! I didn't realize it had done that and apologize for the suspicious looking notification anonymously titled "Title". *hides face* Yes, that was me. No, I am not a scammer. Blessings and cheers, -Liz

Book Spotlight: Seventh City
“Have you heard of a place called Inik Katsuk?” The world seems to have gone quiet again. Inik Katsuk, the Seventh City. I nod. “Have you seen it?” “I have only heard of it in tales.” “And do you believe them, these tales?” “Let me tell you a story that happened so long ago that only the hills and rivers can remember the time . . . .” All her life, thirteen-year-old Maki has heard tales of the legendary city of gold, buried deep in the northern frontier. But when her village is burned and her brother captured by cruel invaders, the legend becomes desperately real. Armed with a wolf-dog…

Get to Know Me Tag
I was tagged by Jenelle Schmidt to do this tag. Hers was so fun, and I loved getting to know this brilliant, sweet lady! I haven’t done anything like this in years (think back to those survey tags from the days of just-email). Yes, I am kind of old school to remember that! I also did want to let you know, since there has been a bit of confusion over Newsletter subscription vs. blog subscription: if you are seeing this blog post in your email and thought you were signing up for the Newsletter, this is not the Newsletter. 🙂 This is the blog post, and you have subscribed to…

Winter Have-Read List
Winter is officially over! I started out burning through books… and then quickly burnt out. I’ve been learning a lot about social media and platforming, and I think the stress of it got to me again. I needed to be reminded that God is in control, and I don’t need to worry about it! Just keep learning, keep trusting, and He will take care of the rest. I ended up backing off for a week from a lot of writing things, taking the time to Listen, Be still, and refocus. It was good to remind myself why I am doing this, and that it’s about obeying His calling and glorifying…

New cover for The Electrical Menagerie!
EEP! In a post already scheduled for later this month, I will share that I finally read The Electrical Menagerie by the incomparable Mollie E. Reeder (along with my mini review because reviews are not my thing). But I have to tell you, I loved it. It was really something special. Dear friendships, great adventure, comical dialogue and surprising twists await you in this book. Plus, Mollie’s prose is so capturing! Although it is already out and available on Amazon, Mollie has decided to give it a sparkling new cover and I think it is wonderful. Just look at this GIF. My eyes are glowing. Can you see, there are…
